Mograph High5 // 013

I spend way too much time browsing motion graphics (mograph) on Vimeo. Although, it is a great way to stay on top of the latest trends, get inspired, and connect with other like minded artists. It's kind of mind blowing how many new animations pop up each week. Both newly posted projects and older pieces that are new to me. There's a lot to sort through and not all of the pieces are worth the time and effort. I decided to start cataloging what I find and hopefully save time for others. My goal is to post my five favorite finds each week.

Here are my favorites this week:

1.

Health Direct Symptom Checker from SMOG.tv on Vimeo.
The animation for these "stick" people are the best I think I've seen. The drop shadows give the limbs definition and keep them from blending together. I can feel the emotions they are conveying even without a face. Nice rich colors. Solid piece.

2.

MyChart : Children's Healthcare of Atlanta from Michael Jones on Vimeo.
Love the flow of this piece. Everything is really fluid. Simple, clean design goes a long way. The animation overlaps keep it interesting and moving.

3.

WIZZIO from HOMEMBALA on Vimeo.
The opening transition from the word "banking" into bank buildings is great. That definitely hooked me. The line art creating the background elements in the last half looks and feels superb. Great design and great pacing.

4.

HEY DUGGEE - TEASER TRAILER from STUDIO AKA on Vimeo.
This is fun! Love the bright colors and the character designs. The way the characters express themselves reminds me of Pocoyo a little. I'll have to keep my eyes out for a full episode.

5.

PopHub Explainer Video from FAB Design on Vimeo.
This piece feels complex. So many different background elements moving in the city scenes. Illustrations really set this piece apart. A little on the bouncy side but that just adds to the fun.
