I spend way too much time browsing motion graphics
(mograph) on Vimeo. Although, it is a great way to stay on top of the latest trends, get inspired, and connect with other like minded artists. It's kind of mind blowing how many new animations pop up each week. Both newly posted projects and older pieces that are new to me. There's a lot to sort through and not all of the pieces are worth the time and effort. I decided to start cataloging what I find and hopefully save time for others. My goal is to post my five favorite finds each week.
Here are my favorites this week:
Choose Your Weapon from Arthur Gorsharik on Vimeo.
Slick build ons. Making something elaborate seem effortless.
Livepress Animated Explainer Video from Demo Duck on Vimeo.
Demo Duck is killing it in the explainer video realm. All the projects I have seen from them have great design and a compelling story that keep me hooked.
Patagonia, "What the Pluck?" from Moving Colour on Vimeo.
Your animation and story have to be top notch to make an emotional connection without using words. "What the Pluck?" is a great example of doing just that.
Google Fiber from Oddfellows on Vimeo.
No doubt super complex in the timeline but the final output is simple and clean. Love how the dots have a little extra character to them.
NOKIA LUMIA 920 from Phong Luong on Vimeo.
Although it's not an official spot, it's really well done. Love the colors and the geometric transitional elements.
