I spend way too much time browsing motion graphics
(mograph) on Vimeo. Although, it is a great way to stay on top of the latest trends, get inspired, and connect with other like minded artists. It's kind of mind blowing how many new animations pop up each week. Both newly posted projects and older pieces that are new to me. There's a lot to sort through and not all of the pieces are worth the time and effort. I decided to start cataloging what I find and hopefully save time for others. My goal is to post my five favorite finds each week.
Here are my favorites this week:
Original / Short from Vucko on Vimeo.
The motion in this piece is so smooth. Nothing completely settles. Even if it's really subtle, motion is always happening.
YHWH // Section 10 from David Stanfield on Vimeo.
Really digging the style in this project. Everything clicking into place with the voice feels great too. His writeup on the process is worth checking out too: http://lifeafterquitting.tumblr.com/post/104463425552/process-yhwh
Also, check out the final project: http://vimeo.com/113321805
Sappi : Ideas That Matter from Josh Parker on Vimeo.
The characters in this piece are fluid and expressive. Great example of how good, clean transitions can keep something moving and fresh.
MyKubo from HOMEMBALA on Vimeo.
The transition into 3D from the logo around :12 feels so smooth. So much motion in tiny details. This is a great little piece.
BGF Retail 2015 vision movie from :DELPIC design studio on Vimeo.
The thing that caught my eye with this piece were the camera moves and framing. Sort of makes it feel more cinematic to me. The faux time lapse at the end is pretty dope too.
